Sapa Group / Hydro Extruded Solutions
Sapa Group (now Hydro Extruded Solutions) was the largest aluminium extrusion-based solutions company in the world, counting 100 production sites in more than 40 countries, and employing 22,800 staff. In October 2017, Hydro ASA completed its $3.2 billion acquisition of the company with Sapa becoming a business area within Hydro called Extruded Solutions. With this acquisition Hydro has become a fully integrated aluminium company with operations spanning from production of primary aluminium, rolled and extruded products and recycling to extraction of bauxite, refining alumina and generating energy.
